Most-asked questions
I have been practising for two weeks and still can't change chords quickly. Is something wrong?
No — this is completely normal. Use the one-minute changes exercise daily on the two chords you find hardest, and play songs with a slow metronome. Most people see a big jump around weeks 4–6. See beginner problems.
Should I learn songs or exercises?
Both, but mostly songs at first. Use exercises to fix the specific problems songs reveal.
Can I learn guitar without a teacher?
Yes, many people are self-taught. Structure helps a lot — follow the 30-Day Plan and the lessons by level. A few lessons with a teacher to check posture and technique are a great investment.
My guitar is hard to play. Is it me or the guitar?
If strings are high above the frets or you hear buzzing in the same spot regardless of technique, it is likely the guitar. A setup can make a big difference. See setup explained.
Can I request a song breakdown?
Yes! Send us the song and artist. We'll add popular requests to our song lists with the chords and progression (we don't publish lyrics).
